Dívám se směrem do temnoty a přemýšlím, jestli jsem tu správně. Bloudil jsem několik dní v mrazivé mlze, toulal se nekonečnými močály, abych nakonec sestoupil pod zem. Legendy praví, že se zde nachází brána do podsvětí. Majestátní i rezavá, ohlodaná časem i svědomím prokletých. Nemám klíč, ani tajemné heslo, abych mohl vstoupit dovnitř. Stačí mi nové album německých tmářů TYPHONIAN. Kapely, jejíž cestu sleduji od jejich počátků.

Vždy jsem měl rád hudbu, která je postavená na jasných, zřetelných a silných melodiích. Němci mají talent na to, napsat velmi podmanivé skladby se zvláštními náladami. Jednou jsou starosvětsky suroví, jindy chladní jako ruka mrtvoly, někdy záhadní a melancholičtí. I novinka je velmi pestrým, zajímavým a neotřelým albem. Stačilo několik prvních tónů a brána se otevřela.

Pokud jste starší jako já, tak určitě pamatujete doby, když jste si přinesli nějakou dobrou nahrávku domů, sedli jste si k reproduktorům a poslouchali ji neustále dokola. Přesně tohle se mi stalo s "The Gate of the Veiled Beyond". Byl jsem jako uhranutý, zážitek bych přirovnal k návštěvě starodávného podzemního chrámu, který je sice již dlouhé roky opuštěný, ale do zdí je otištěno tolik bolestivých příběhů, že je vnímám celým svým tělem. Jsme na stejně vlně, já i kapela. Mám rád způsob, jakým pánové přistupují ke své hrobnické práci. Základem je sice stále klasický, tradiční death metal devadesátých let, ale přidávány jsou jak finské, tak švédské melodie. A tohle všechno je činěno s velkou elegancí a samozřejmostí. Němci napsali album, které se vám zadře pod kůži. Pokud máte rádi kapely jako EDGE OF SANITY, UNANIMATED, DESULTORY, NECROPHOBIC, UNLEASHED, EVOCATION a další chladné melodiky, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. TYPHONIAN jsou majestátní, vznešení, z jejich hudby je cítit takové to poctivé chvění, temná energie. Tohle jsou všechno věci, které se nedají naučit, musíte je mít v sobě, musíte hrát srdcem. Představte si, že se před vámi brána do záhrobí otevře a vy vstoupíte dovnitř. Jako první vás smete ledová vichřice. Potom budete několikrát zaživa pohřbeni, a samozřejmě, tohle album vám bude hrát stále dokola do uší. Přiznám se bez mučení. Jsem z novinky nadšený, stále si ji rvu pod tlakem do hlavy a myslím si, že tomu tak bude ještě dlouhý čas. Zapomenout nesmím ani na parádní obal od Juanjo Castellano Rosada i chladný a dobře čitelný zvuk. Dívám se směrem do temnoty a přemýšlím, jestli jsem tu správně. I've always liked music that is built on clear, distinct and strong melodies. The Germans have a talent for writing very captivating songs with special moods. Sometimes they are old-worldly raw, sometimes cold as a dead man's hand, sometimes mysterious and melancholic. The new album is also very varied, interesting and novel. The first few notes were enough to open the gates.

If you're older like me, you'll remember the days when you brought a good record home, sat down at the speakers and listened to it over and over again. That's exactly what happened to me with "The Gate of the Veiled Beyond". I was spellbound, an experience I would compare to visiting an ancient underground temple that may have been abandoned for many years, but there are so many painful stories imprinted on the walls that I can feel them with my whole body. We're on the same wavelength, the band and I. I love the way the gentlemen approach their grave digging work. While the foundation is still classic, traditional 90's death metal, both Finnish and Swedish melodies are added. And all this is done with great elegance and self-evidence. The Germans have written an album that gets under your skin. If you like bands like EDGE OF SANITY, UNANIMATED, DESULTORY, NECROPHOBIC, UNLEASHED, EVOCATION and other cool tunes, don't hesitate a moment. TYPHONIAN are majestic, sublime, you can feel that honest shiver, that dark energy from their music. These are all things that can't be taught, you have to have it in you, you have to play with your heart. Imagine that the gate to the afterlife opens in front of you and you step inside. The first thing that hits you is an ice storm. Then you will be buried alive several times, and of course, this album will play over and over in your ears. I'll admit it without torture. I'm excited about the new album, I'm still banging it around in my head under pressure, and I think I will be for a long time to come. Not to forget the awesome cover artwork by Juanjo Castellano Rosado and the cool and easy to hear sound. I look towards the darkness and wonder if I'm in the right place.
