Za ty roky, co se toulám po starých hřbitovech, moc dobře vím, že každý hrob je jiný. Má kolem sebe odlišnou auru, smrdí úplně jinak. Tentokrát jsem daleko na severu. Nečekal bych, že bude hřbitov i zde, hluboko v lesích, ale říká se, že tady byli pohřbíváni prokletí. Při děsivých, krvavých rituálech. Kopnu poprvé do země a uslyším nářek nemrtvých. Něco není v pořádku. Zjistím to hned, jakmile otevřu plesnivou rakev. Leží v ní mrtvola, která drží ve svých shnilých rukou nové album kanadských SERPENT CORPSE.
Dobrá death metalová alba musí smrdět smrtí a "Blood Sabbath" mi ihned proniklo do žil. Najednou jsem byl hluboko pod zemí a stále znovu zažíval krvavé rituály. Tady se hraje pro všechny prokleté, pro zombie a démony. Přidávám postupně hlasitost a užívám si děsivou a mrtvolnou náladu celé desky. Vítejte v Hádově říši!
Kanadští smrťáci věří ve stejné kapely jako já. Jejich muzika je ovlivněna tím, co hrávaly a dodnes hrají smečky typu AUTOPSY, ABSCESS, CIANIDE, BOLT THROWER, ENTOMBED. Garantuji vám, že shnijete zaživa, rozpadnete se v prach a nakonec se vrátíte jako děsivá zrůda. Skladby v sobě mají potřebnou sílu, drive a spoustu černé energie. Zážitek z poslechu je opravdu velmi podobný exhumaci starého hrobu. Pokud máte někdy pocit, že svět je zlý a ošklivý, tak si pusťte tuhle nahrávku a zažijete opravdové inferno. Vidím před sebou dávno opuštěnou kobku. Mumie se sepnutýma rukama na prsou. Divně se usmívají. Dnes je náš večer. Samozřejmostí je prašivý, zdrcující zvuk, skvělý obal (Lucas Korte) i celkové provedení. Fanoušek dostane komplexní dílo velmi vysoké kvality. Nám jde ale hlavně o hudbu a ta je jedním slovem - hrůzostrašná. A to přesně takovým tím uvěřitelným a surovým způsobem, který máme my, staří, metaloví psi tolik rádi. "Blood Sabbath" je jako krvavá mlha nad hřbitovem, jako přízraky z onoho světa, jako morbidní ozvěny ze záhrobí. Beru do ruky kladivo a drtím zmrzlé kosti. Lebky se smějí do ticha a já moc dobře vím, že zde, v temné kostnici, vynikne nahrávka nejlépe. SERPENT CORPSE se toho nebojí, útočí přímo, jako krvelačná smečka prašivých psů. Mě nezbývá nic jiného, než vám album doporučit. Hraje se zde totiž od srdce, s talentem a nadšením pro všechny funerální záležitosti. Hnilobně mokvající death metal ze starých katakomb! Povedená exhumace!

I wouldn't expect there to be a cemetery here, deep in the woods, but they say this is where the cursed were buried. In horrific, bloody rituals. I kick the ground for the first time and hear the cries of the undead. Something's not right. I'll know as soon as I open the moldy coffin. Good death metal albums must stink of death and "Blood Sabbath" immediately penetrated my veins. Suddenly I was deep underground and reliving the blood rituals all over again. This is where you play for all the damned, for zombies and demons. I turn up the volume gradually and enjoy the eerie and deadpan mood of the whole record. Welcome to the realm of Hades!
Canadian Death Eaters believe in the same bands I do. Their music is influenced by what packs like AUTOPSY, ABSCESS, CIANIDE, BOLT THROWER, ENTOMBED used to play and still do. I guarantee that you will rot alive, crumble into dust and eventually come back as a terrifying monster. The songs have the necessary power, drive and a lot of black energy. The listening experience is really very similar to exhuming an old grave. If you ever feel that the world is evil and ugly, then listen to this record and you will experience a real inferno. I see a long-abandoned dungeon in front of me. A mummy with his hands clasped to his chest. Smiling strangely. Tonight is our night. Of course there's the dusty, crushing sound, the great cover art (Lucas Korte) and the overall performance. The fan gets a comprehensive work of very high quality. But for us, it's all about the music, and it is, in a word, terrifying. And it's exactly in that believable and raw way that we old metal dogs love so much. "Blood Sabbath" is like a bloody fog over a graveyard, like ghosts from the other world, like morbid echoes from beyond the grave. I pick up my hammer and crush the frozen bones. The skulls laugh into the silence and I know very well that here, in the dark ossuary, the recording stands out best. SERPENT CORPSE is not afraid of this, it attacks directly, like a bloodthirsty pack of mangy dogs. I have no choice but to recommend the album to you. For it is played from the heart, with talent and enthusiasm for all things funeral. Rottenly swelling death metal from the old catacombs! A successful exhumation!
