Už dlouhé roky trávím svůj volný čas mezi stíny. Neznám nic lepšího, než vypnout syrový reálný svět a vydat se za oponu. Procházím se mlhou, navštěvuji stará pohřebiště, nasávám pach rozkladu a zapomnění. Pokaždé, když potkám nějakou dobrou kapelu, tak si poslech vyloženě užívám. Chci být sám, jenom já a hudba, jenom já a nicota. S finskými DEVENIAL VERDICT jste se mohli již dvakrát na mých stránkách setkat. Jednou, když vydali v roce 2022 minulé album a potom, když jsem sepsal report z pražského koncertu.
Mám rád, když umí kapela vytvořit podmanivou a zajímavou atmosféru, když si umí hrát s náladami. Musí do mě zaseknout svůj dráp. Když si to vezmu kolem a kolem, tak psát o novém albu těchto finských maniaků není vůbec lehké. Jejich novinka "Blessing of Despair" je totiž svým způsobem neuchopitelná, majestátní a mocná. Nejdete na ní jak klasické death metalové základy, tak i spoustu disonantních a progresivních prvků. Pro poslech je samozřejmě vyžadována fantazie a touha objevovat nová zákoutí.
Někdy se budete vznášet, jindy zase padat do hlubin. Kolem vás se budou proplétat jedovatí hadi, kteří vás svým jedem přenesou do jiných dimenzí. Na muzice je krásné to, že nezná hranice. Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových UCERATE, MINTHRAS, MORBID ANGEL, BLUT AUS NOD, DSYGNOSTIC a dalších tmářů, tak budete nadšeni. Možná (mě se to kupříkladu stalo) na vás bude novinka působit zpočátku podivně, komplikovaně, ale věřte tomu, že její síla vynikne až při opakovaných setkáních. Navíc, album je velmi dobře zvukově ošetřeno a o obalu také netřeba diskutovat. Mariusz Lewandowski odvedl skvělou práci. A nejen on, jsou to hlavně muzikanti, kteří nejen, že umí skvěle hrát, ale mají i dobré nápady, spoustu invence a schopnost mě překvapit. Ona si vlastně deska zpočátku jen tak plyne kolem, jako zimní řeka, jako stoka pod vaším městem. Postupně mě vtáhla dovnitř. Budete se topit vlastními temnými myšlenkami, vznášet se na krvavých vlnách, padat do hlubin. Psal jsem to již v úvodu dnešního článku. Někdy bývám rád sám. Jen si tak čtu a nebo se toulám lesem. V těchto chvílích jsem si "Blessing of Despair" užíval nejvíce. Ono vlastně není co dodat dalšího, protože v případě DEVENIAL VERDICT je opravdu lepší poslouchat, než psát slova, které stejně nedokáží obsáhnout celou nahrávku. Je zde vášeň, ostrost, spousta zádumčivých a pochmurných melancholických melodií. Už dlouhé roky trávím svůj volný čas mezi stíny. Once when they released their last album in 2022 and then when I wrote a report from their Prague concert.
I like it when a band can create a captivating and interesting atmosphere, when they can play with moods. They have to get their claws into me. All in all, it's not easy to write about the new album of these Finnish maniacs. After all, their new release "Blessing of Despair" is elusive, majestic and powerful in its own way. You will find on it both classic death metal basics and a lot of dissonant and progressive elements. Of course, imagination and a desire to explore new corners is required for listening.
Sometimes you will float, sometimes you will fall into the depths. Poisonous snakes will weave around you, transporting you to other dimensions with their venom. The beauty of music is that it knows no boundaries. If you're a fan of UCERATE, MINTHRAS, MORBID ANGEL, BLUT AUS NOD, DSYGNOSTIC and other obscurantists, you'll be thrilled. Maybe (it happened to me, for example) the novelty will seem strange and complicated at first, but believe me, its power will become apparent only with repeated encounters. Moreover, the album is very well sound treated and the cover artwork is also not to be discussed. Mariusz Lewandowski has done a great job. And not only him, it's mainly the musicians who not only know how to play well, but also have good ideas, a lot of inventiveness and the ability to surprise me. Actually, the record just flows by at first, like a winter river, like a sewer under your town. Gradually, she drew me in. You'll be drowning in your own dark thoughts, floating on bloody waves, falling into the depths. I wrote that in the beginning of today's article. Sometimes I like to be alone. Just reading or wandering in the woods. It's when I enjoyed "Blessing of Despair" the most. Actually, there is nothing else to add, because in the case of DEVENIAL VERDICT it is really better to listen than to write words, which can't cover the whole record anyway. There is passion, sharpness, a lot of brooding and gloomy melancholic melodies. I've been spending my free time among the shadows for years.
