Neznal si nic jiného, než nedělní mše. Setkání s podobně prokletými, sedával si v chladné lavici a modlil se k Bohu, kterého si nikdy neviděl. Celý týden si hřešil, pil pivo a čekal, až konečně přijde. Zrovna si poslouchal nové album amerických BEWITCHER a kostel byl skoro prázdný. Místo svěcené vody byla síra a za oltářem seděl on, samotný vládce pekla. Usmíval se, podupával si nohou do rytmu a kýval spokojeně hlavou. Všude byla krev a roztrhané kusy masa.

Vyzpovídal ses Satanovi, řekl mu o všem zlu, nenávisti, o lžích, o hlouposti, které ovládají současný podivný svět. Prořízl ti hrdlo a vzal tě na druhou stranu. Tančili jste divoce a rakve praskaly tlakem. Tohle je hudba ze starých prokletých kostelů, z pohřebišť, z doby, kdy se na nějakou tu špínu v muzice nehledělo. Kdysi dávno, jsem na podobných deskách vyrůstal.

Já zkrátka nikdy nepůjdu s davem, já se nebudu klanět padlým modlám. Navěky budu poslouchat podobný black speed thrash metal ve stylu VENOM, DARKTHRONE, AURA NOIR, DESASTER, SODOM. Těmi se pánové nechali volně inspirovat. A dělají to velmi zkušeně a elegantně. Pro mě je vždy důležité, abych si melodie pamatoval, abych měl chuť exhumovat další hrob. Nutno rovnou dodat, že když už mám plné zuby práce, lidí kolem mě, když mě štvou večerní zprávy, politici, tupý dav, tak se zavírám do své studené kobky, sedávám u reproduktorů a poslouchám podobné nahrávky, jako je "Spell Shock". Co víc si může starý metalový pes jako já přát? Dostal jsem skvělý prašivý zvuk i tajemný stylový obal (SoloMacello). Po formální stránce byla odvedena dobrá práce, to je bez debat. Můžu se tak soustředit na hudbu samotnou, která je náležitě ostrá, divoká, chladná i temná. BEWITCHER ale nejsou jenom dnes tolik častou "retro" kapelou. Naopak, metal v jejich podání je živý, neustále se něco děje, skladby kopou jako splašený kůň. Je to takový velmi zdařilý a syrový výlet po časové ose pět. Jasně, je v tom i kus nostalgie, kus mých vlastních vzpomínek. Neznal jsem nic jiného, než nedělní mše. Once upon a time, I grew up on records like this.

I simply will never go with the crowd, I will not bow down to fallen idols. I will forever listen to the likes of black speed thrash metal in the style of VENOM, DARKTHRONE, AURA NOIR, DESASTER, SODOM. These gentlemen were freely inspired by them. And they do it very skilled and elegantly. For me it's always important to remember the tunes, to have the desire to exhume another grave. I should also add that when I'm fed up with work, people around me, when I'm annoyed with the evening news, politicians, the dull crowd, I close myself in my cold dungeon, sit by the speakers and listen to records like "Spell Shock". What more could an old metal dog like me want? I got a great dusty sound and a mysterious stylish cover (SoloMacello). Formally, a good job was done, no question. It allows me to focus on the music itself, which is appropriately edgy, wild, cold and dark. But BEWITCHER are not just the "retro" band so common nowadays. On the contrary, metal in their performance is alive, something is always happening, the songs kick like a stampeding horse. It's such a very successful and raw trip along the timeline five. Of course, there is a piece of nostalgia in it, a piece of my own memories. I've known nothing but Sunday mass. Meeting with the similarly damned, I sat in a cold pew and prayed to a God I'd never seen. All week I sinned, drank beer and waited for him to finally come. He's here! The bonfire burns brightly!
