Tajemné symboly zářící do tmy. Postavy v kápích, sklánějící se nad dnešní obětí. Děsivý výkřik, mumlání modliteb, vzývání temných sil. Sedím uprostřed noci na starém pohřebišti v lesích a přede mnou se odehrávají pradávné příběhy, které se zde kdysi staly. Unikl jsem stereotypu všedních dní, vrátil se po časové ose zpět, i ke svým krvavým kořenům. Poslouchám nové album kanadských tmářů WORMWITCH a přemýšlím, kolik strachu a beznaděje je promítnuto do naší historie.
Vše je ohlodané na kost, vše je ryzí a opravdové. Pokud máte rádi surový, klasický black metal, občas okořeněný thrashem a crustem, vítejte na dnešním obřadu. Poklekněte a nechte přírodu, aby vás přijmula do svých spárů. Nakonec přežívají jenom ti nejsilnější. Je něco neklidného, magického, tajemného, v novém letošním stejnojmenném albu.
Kanaďané sází na silné melodie, na surový zvuk, na spoustu neotřelých a zajímavých nápadů. Doporučuji vám vypnout všechny sítě světa, oprostit se od stresu a hluku současného života a zmizet do lesa za městem. Zde, v naprosté tmě, v chladu a starých jeskyních, vynikne síla téhle desky nejvíce. Občas zazní odkazy na kapely jako IMMORTAL, MARDUK, DESTROYER 666, DISSECTION, WATAIN, NECROPHOBIC. Moje přirovnání berte ale s nadhledem. WORWWITCH jsou jinak originální smečkou, která znovu předkládá materiál s vlastními nápady a invencí. Pokud máte, jako já, rádi u hudby hlavně upřímnost, opravdovost a touhu ničit, potom neváhejte ani chvilku. Hraje se zde hlavně pro vás, i pro všechny prokleté. Jako bych stál v nějaké temné jeskyni a čelil nárazům podzemní řeky, která je špinavá a chladná. Dusím se vlastní krví, nasávám plesnivý pach pradávné zloby. Líbí se mi, že má kapela svůj rukopis, že ji poznáte ihned mezi ostatními. Alespoň tak vnímám jejich hudbu já. Jsem při poslechu lovcem, který uštve oběť až ke konci. Koloběh přírody, života a smrti. Vše má svoje místo a jasný účel. Ověřeno časem, podepsáno krví. Tajemné symboly zářící do tmy. Postavy v kápích, sklánějící se nad dnešní obětí. Děsivý výkřik, mumlání modliteb, vzývání temných sil. Skladby jsou opravdu velmi dobře napsány, zvuk i obal vše krásně doplňují a vy se tak můžete soustředit na vlastní nápady. Surové, chladné a temné ozvěny ze starodávných black metalových pohřebišť! Oltář je připraven!

Mysterious symbols glowing in the dark. Hooded figures bowing over today's victim. Terrifying screams, muttered prayers, invocations of dark forces. I'm sitting in the middle of the night in an old burial ground in the woods, and the ancient stories that once happened here are playing out before me. I've escaped the stereotype of everyday life, back along the timeline, even to my bloody roots. I listen to the new album by Canadian darkies WORMWITCH and think about how much fear and hopelessness is projected into our history.
Everything is gnawed to the bone, everything is pure and real. If you like raw, classic black metal, occasionally spiced with thrash and crust, welcome to tonight's ceremony. Take a knee and let nature take you into its clutches. In the end, only the strongest survive. There's something restless, magical, mysterious, in this year's new album of the same name.
The Canadians rely on strong melodies, on raw sound, on a lot of novel and interesting ideas. I recommend you to turn off all the networks of the world, get away from the stress and noise of contemporary life and disappear into the woods behind the city. There, in the complete darkness, the cold and the old caves, the power of this record will shine through the most. Occasionally you can hear references to bands like IMMORTAL, MARDUK, DESTROYER 666, DISSECTION, WATAIN, NECROPHOBIC. But take my comparisons with a grain of salt. WORWWITCH are otherwise an original bunch, re-presenting material with their own ideas and inventiveness. If, like me, you like honesty, sincerity and the desire to destroy in music, then don't hesitate a moment. It is played here mainly for you, and for all the damned. It's like standing in some dark cave and facing the rush of an underground river that is dirty and cold. I choke on my own blood, sucking in the musty smell of ancient wickedness. I like that the band has its own signature, that you can recognize it immediately among the others. At least that's how I perceive their music. I'm a hunter listening to it, and it's not until the end that it hits its prey. The cycle of nature, life and death. Everything has its place and a clear purpose. Tested by time, signed in blood. The songs are really well written, the sound and cover art complement everything beautifully, and you can focus on your own ideas. Raw, cold and dark echoes from ancient black metal burial grounds!
